Welcome
More than 40 years ago (1962) President John F. Kennedy was advocating that we protect the environment from potential climate disasters. What will we tell our children?-- if we all survive to tell them anything? It is time for us to quit procrastinating...Click here to watch video of PRES. JFK on Climate online.
" Planetary Pillaging" -- By Melvia Miller
FOR YOUR IMAGINATION:
* Pretend that you are a tropical plant. You have the following thoughts --
I am a beautiful tropical plant. My flowers that I produce possess elements that help to cure cancer and other horrible diseases that come from imbalances in metabolism, enzymes, and nutrients.
There have been many people who have tried to harness those powers so that they can sell them for a ton of money. But it is difficult to do because of the delicacy of the blossoms. It is not easy to package the "magic cures" because the fragile blossoms must remain intact to be most effective. Those who have discovered these flowers know that when they take the fresh blooms and put them into a fruit juice and then drink the concoction ... that their bodies become healthy. But they have not yet figured out how to commercialize the potent elements in the flowers. I am in no position to inform them that it can be done with special freeze-dry techniques.
I can only continue to multiply and make more flowers. Perhaps one day, after they have exhausted all the drugs ... humanity will wake up and see the truth about these flowers and want to preserve the beauty of what we offer.
Although the world is suffering at epidemic rates from all sorts of diseases, they have failed to give Nature the credit due for providing all of these herbs, roots, oils, foods, flower remedies, and medicines. They continue to produce over-priced drugs that are very limited in their ability to treat the ailments. People continue to walk around afflicted with sicknesses... and millions have poor access to doctors and no health care insurance. Business is booming in the drug industry, while they only seek
to chop down this forest where I live.
Businesses are bringing in their big trucks and tractors --spewing poison exhaust fumes into the clean jungle air -- and they are cutting down the trees. Those companies do not consider re-planting anything. They are leaving large masses of vacant land which will soon cause more climate problems. In addition, they do not bother to consider what happens to the animals (insects, birds, organisms, etc.) who live in the forests.
Without trees, the air will be more polluted and the planet will have less oxygen, causing more sickness. The cycle of life (ecology) balance will be thrown off. The rains will come and wash away the fertile top soil. But it does not stop there -- they take the wood from the trees to use to build houses. Then they over-charge people who purchase the expensive houses. Humanity is already suffering in debt -- nearly drowning in an economic crisis. But -- that has not stopped them yet. The greed for money and mistreatment of the land will only cause more sicknesses and suffering.
There are other commodities that can be used to contruct homes and buildings -- such as: recycled steel and rubber. But these greedy people have not considered that alternative --because they want to exploit the abundant forests. Little do they know -- that once all the forests have been chopped down -- they will not be able to survive in their fancy buildings.
By ignoring the healing powers we offer as plants --- humanity is digging their own graves. We must put a stop to this ugly cycle of greed and self-destruction. Thank goodness for those who are trying to raise awareness of the divine connections of humanity to all things in life. I reach up to the sun and I pray to the GREAT SPIRIT that the beauty of my blossoms will open their eyes --- and most of all -- heal their minds...one day soon.
INDIAN ADAGE: What we do to this planet -- we do to ourselves.
